At Embrace Acupuncture, its about so much more than reducing your symptoms… It’s about finding the reason why they occurred and working to treat both symptoms and the cause.
To do this we take an integrative, whole-person approach finding out exactly where your health is at.
After chatting with you briefly and booking in an appointment, a comprehensive intake form will be emailed to you. We appreciate the forms emailed back 2 days before your first appointment to allow us time to read and have a good understanding of your overall health. We also ask you attach or bring in any relevant blood tests or scans for a more comprehensive understanding. of your current health needs.
This allows more time in the initial consult for understanding the complexities of the conditions and leaves more time for a beautiful relaxing treatment for you.
During the initial consultation, a full comprehensive history is discussed to find out the possible causes of the symptoms and the appropriate treatment. Tongue and pulse diagnosis are also used to work out the Chinese Medicine pattern that your body is presenting.

From there, with your permission sterilised super fine (.18mm) needles are gently inserted into specifically chosen acupuncture points (checking in to ensure you are relaxed and comfortable at all times!).

Then it is time for the practitioner to leave the room and allow you to focus on your breathing, relax and let the acupuncture do the work!
Checking in with you regularly to ensure comfort at all times, the needles are generally left in for 15-25 mins.
After removing the needles, encouraging you to slowly get up, sip on some water to rehydrate, a personalised treatment strategy is then discussed with you.We will cover details such as how many visits is likely to be needed, any scans or tests required, if herbs would be a good option and what diet and lifestyle advice will help with your condition.
Questions and feedback are always welcome and we look forward to hearing from you should you need anything.
